Disclaimer and Terms and Conditions for Let’s Talk Water Safety Event
Free Community Water Safety Event 26th of October
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before participating in this free community water safety session. By registering for and attending this event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms set out below. These terms and conditions apply for any activity on the day of the 26th of October 2025. On the unlikely event that your sessions are moved or postponed to another day, please note the following terms and conditions will still apply.
Event Overview
This community water safety session is a non-commercial public education initiative designed to build water confidence and develop essential aquatic safety skills. Each session includes:
- Foundational water confidence and orientation activities
- Instruction in basic aquatic skills and water survival techniques
- Education on safe water practices for families and individuals
- The opportunity to participate in a dry land session prior to entering the water, if desired
- Access to resources and tools to support continued learning at home
Participation and Group sessions
- Each session runs for 60 minutes and begins on the hour.
- Sessions may include up to 12 participants per group, with two groups operating concurrently.
- Once your session has concluded, we kindly ask that you make use of the facilities and exit the venue in a timely manner, allowing the next group to commence.
- Group allocations and session times will be confirmed once registrations are finalised.
- If registrations exceed capacity, an additional session may be scheduled on a future date or time, subject to staff availability.
- If you are unable to attend your allocated sessions on the 26th of October 2025, please notify on the event website or other contact details provided upon enrolment.
Booking and Registration
- All registrations must be completed via the Let’s Talk Water Safety website.
- Bookings will not be accepted through alternative platforms.
- Each participant must complete a registration form and pre-session questionnaire. This is to ensure our team can tailor each session to the individual and group needs.
- Only those listed in the original booking may participate. Group changes are not permitted after registration due to session planning requirements.
- There is no age limit to participate, however children under 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
- If you are unable to attend your allocated session, please notify us as early as possible so your place may be offered to another participant. Waitlists may be available.
Health, Wellness and Safety
We want all participants to feel safe, respected and supported in and around water environments. To ensure the health and safety of all participants, staff and volunteers, the following health and hygiene requirements apply:
- Participants must not enter the water or attend the sessions if they are unwell, including symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, skin infections, respiratory illness or any contagious conditions.
- If you or a member of your group has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea in the 48 hours prior to the session, you must inform the organisers, and this may lead to your event session being cancelled or rescheduled.
- If you or your child has been diagnosed with an infectious or communicable condition (e.g. conjunctivitis, influenza, school sores or COVID-19), please ensure you seek medical clearance before participating.
- All medical conditions that may impact participation must be disclosed during registration. This includes (but not limited to) asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart conditions, anxiety, physical limitations or sensory conditions.
- If you are feeling unwell on the day of your session, please contact the organisers. We will do our best to place you on a waitlist for future sessions.
- First aid will be available on site. You consent to receive basic first aid if required. In emergencies, further medical assistance will be sought.
- All participants must maintain personal hygiene standards appropriate for shared aquatic environments.
These requirements are in line with public health guidance and best practice water safety standards. Your cooperation is appreciated to help keep all participants safe and well.
Supervision and Safety
We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Participation in water-based activities is voluntary. If at any time you feel uncomfortable entering the water, you are not required to do so.
- A dry land introduction is available for all participants. You may choose to enter the water when you feel ready.
- A supervisor will be on duty during each session to monitor safety and assist participants.
- You must follow all directions given by staff and supervisors at all times.
- Please disclose any relevant medical conditions or accessibility needs during registration or prior to your session.
- Appropriate swimwear must be worn in the pool (this includes appropriate swimming nappies). Personal floatation devices or support items may be used if approved by supervising staff.
- Our team will be available prior to the event and on the day to help answer any questions and assist in supporting your experience.
Risk Acknowledgement and Waiver of Liability
By participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept the following:
- Water-based activities carry inherent risks, including the potential of injury, illness or other adverse outcomes.
- While all reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure your safety, participation is at your own risk.
- The organisers, their staff, volunteers and affiliated partners shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage or claim arising from your participation, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable Australian law.
- In the event of illness or injury, you consent to the provision of first aid and further medical treatment where deemed necessary by event staff.
- You are responsible for supervising any children under your care throughout the session and event.
Photography and Media Consent
Photographs or video may be taken during the program for the purpose of promotion, education or reporting. By attending the session and event, you grant permission for your image to be used in such material.
If you do not consent to photography, please notify a member of staff in writing before the event or within the session registration process.
Program Changes and Cancellations
The organisers reserve the right to cancel, postpone or modify the session and/or the event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather conditions, facility availability or staff resourcing.
Where a session is cancelled, all reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule or provide alternative options.

This is a Free event as a once off session in the water, this does not get you regular lessons with Frog Pond Swim School during a school term, you will have to go on their waitlist.
